Energy Storage News - April 6th, 2018

This week’s TOP 5 includes a 200 MW PV / 200 MW storage project by NextEra in Nevada, a 130 MWh battery project to be coupled with with 65 MW of PV in Korea by Hyundai, a project by PG&E to roll out 10 MW/40 MWh in California, the acquisition of the assets of flow battery manufacturer Gildemeister by Stina ressources, and a 1 MW project by Doosan Gridtech in Michigan.
 

 

  1. NextEra has proposed to build a 200 MW PV farm with 200 MW storage in Washoe County, Nevada – which would render it the largest facility of its kind in the USA. Construction could begin in 2020.
  2. “Various companies in the Hyundai engineering and industrial construction group will work together on a 65MW solar PV plant with 130MWh of co-located battery energy storage in Seosan, South Korea.”
  3. PG&E plans to deploy at least 10 MW / 40 MWh of energy storage with certain geographical boundaries to respond to the Oakland Clean Energy Initiative (which requires PG&E to procure 20 – 45 MW of “clean energy” in the local area).
  4. Stina ressources announced it is on the verge of completing the acquisition of Gildemeister assets, through a subsidiary named Enerox.
  5. “Doosan GridTech has won a deal to provide U.S. Consumers Energy with a 1 MW battery energy storage system to be deployed at a substation in Michigan.”
