This week’s TOP 5 includes Origis Energy’s selection for a 50MW/200MWh storage system in Mississippi, esVolta’s close of a $140 million funding for its Californian 480-MWh “esFaraday” storage portfolio, the supply deal between Pivot Power and Wärtsilä for 100 MW of energy storage systems in the United Kingdom, the approval of Dominion Energy’s $33-million plan for 16MW/56MWh of storage in Virginia and Sumitomo’s $46-million bet on cryogenic long-duration storage.

  1. Tennessee’s Valley Authority selected Origis Energy for a 50MW/200MWh battery storage system. 

  2. esVolta borrowed $140 million for its eight-project “esFaraday” storage portfolio totaling 136MW/480MWh. 

  3. Pivot Power placed an order for two 50-MW Li-ion battery storage systems with Wärtsilä. 

  4. Dominion Energy Virginia gets approval for four Li-ion battery storage pilot projects amounting to 16MW/56MWh. 

  5. Japanese mogul Sumitomo invested $46 million in cryogenic long-duration storage company Highview Power.
