This week’s TOP 5 includes the selection of Wärtsilä for a 100MW/100MWh energy storage project in South East Asia, Capital Dynamics’ purchase of the Eland Solar & Storage project, NV Energy’s latest request for proposals, Xcel Energy’s plans for seven microgrids in Colorado and the completion of a 4.5-MW solar plant combined with 1.6MW/3.8MWh of battery storage at a former Massachusetts landfill.

  1. Wärtsilä was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for a new 100MW/100MWh energy storage project in South East Asia.
  2. Capital Dynamics purchased the 400-MW PV plus 300MW/1200MWh storage Eland Solar & Storage project (Kern County, California) from 8minute Solar Energy.
  3. Shortly after the approval of its portfolio of 1.19 GW of new solar and 590 MW of battery storage, NV Energy took a step further and issued its “2020 RE RFP” request for proposals.
  4. Xcel Energy will be collaborating with Siemens and Fluence to construct seven microgrid projects in Colorado. The $ 23.4 million roster will include 6MW/15MWh of energy storage.
  5. Kearsarge Energy and NEC Energy Solutions completed works on a 4.5 MW solar PV system combined with a 1.6 MW/3.8 MWh battery storage solution at the former Titcomb pit landfill in Massachusetts.
