- UK-based Pivot Power plans to roll out over 2 GW of energy storage as part of a network of fast charging stations for electric vehicles. According to the company’s plan, 500 MW could be operational within 18 months.
- Vattenfall has officially brought online its 22 MW EFR project co-located with the Pen y Cymoedd onshore wind farm in Wales
- “Shell took part in a €60 million (US$70.23 million) investment round by German battery storage firm Sonnen.”
- Iberdrola distribucion will deploy its first battery storage project in Murcia, Spain. The pilot project consists of a 2 MWh Li-ion battery provided by Ingeteam which will be connected to a weak distribution grid to serve as backup in case of outage.
- Lockheed Martin will supply a 2 MWh Li-ion system to a “community microgrid” project in Chicago funded by the DoE
