This week’s TOP 5 includes the approval of four large energy storage projects in California representing over 2.2 GWh of storage capacity, UK-based investor Gresham House raising 100 M£ for its energy fund, the acquisition of Sharp’s energy services business by NantEnergy, a plan to install a 1 MW / 4 MWh battery system in Tennesse by MidAmerican Energy Company, and a partnership between Stem and Ontario Power Generation.
- The California PUC approved Pacific Gas & Electric's proposal to build 568 MW and 2.27 GWh of battery storage in Moss Landing to cope with the decommissioning of three gas power plants in the area.
- Gresham House has raised 100 M£ for its new fund dedicated to energy storage.
- NantEnergy (formerly known as Fluidic Energy) has acquiredSharp Electronics Corporation's US-based energy systems and services business, which develops and delivers energy management systems across the country.
- MidAmerican Energy Company has announced plans to install a 1 MW / 4 MWh battery energy storage system in Knoxville, Tennessee. The system will be deployed by Invenergy.
- Stem is partnering with Ontario Power Generation to deploy behind the meter energy storage systems in Ontario.
