Energy Storage news - November 22nd, 2019

This week’s TOP 5 includes Salt River Project’s plans for two Arizonian solar-plus-storage projects totalling 338MW/1352MWh of battery storage, Neoen’s upgrade of its Hornsdale Tesla Big Battery project up to a 150MW/193.5MWh sizing, the selection of SunPower and the Goldman Sachs Renewable Power Group for a solar-plus-storage system at New York’s JFK Airport, start of operations at the world’s largest green hydrogen pilot in Austria and Saft’s nomination for the construction of the Nordics’ largest storage system for Finnish wind developer TuuliWatti.

  1. Arizona’s Salt River Project is planning for two solar-plus-storage projects combining a total of 338 MW of solar PV with more than 338 MW of four-hour battery storage systems.
  2. Neoen’s notorious Hornsdale Power Reserve project will be getting a 50MW/64.5MWh upgrade.
  3. SunPower and Goldman Sachs were selected for a solar-plus-storage project co-hosting 13 MW of solar PV with 7.5 MW of battery storage at the JFK Airport.
  4. The 6 MW H2FUTURE project, world’s largest “green” hydrogen pilot, commenced its operations in Austria.
  5. Saft will be building the largest Li-ion battery storage system in the Nordics. The 5.6MW/6.6MWh system will be coupled to TuuliWatti’s 21 MW wind farm.
